new youtube video

by sp | | October 11th, 2009 | tools, videos | No Comments »

Due to my excitement for the new Batman-game „Arkham Asylum“, especially for the well done battle system, I thought I could do a video again. So I thrashed some Lunatics yesterday and put the stuff together with iMovie.

Arrr, it was awful. The raw material was about 16 gb. First, I had to change it to a suitable iMovie-format. Okay. It took approximately half an hour until I found the right converter for my .avi-files. At the second, a couple of cutting and editing hours later, I made the decision to upload it directly from iMovie to YouTube. There’s a handy function…

Estimated time: less than 1 hour.

Whatever, there was nothing to do for me anyway. In the meantime I did the challenge mode and beat up some poor Joker henchmen again. Hahah.

And then! Almost 60 minutes later, I got an „communication error“. Please try again. PLEASE TRY AGAIN!! Guys, it was about 2:00 am. I took the conventional way on youtube.com, just 1:15 h wait. To hell with it!

At 3:00 am everything was done. My video was online and everything was fine.

Hope you like it!

supesklein

Don’t worry, Miss Brenkster isn’t going to be male this month! Hihi. Lately I’ve read a lot of superman comics (more later), so I had no option but to make my own supes.

It’s not THE superman I’ve got in my mind, but for that short work it is… okay. By the way, I didn’t know that it’ll be so difficult to put these pictures online. That supes lies in front of me and the paper looks way different from the uploaded image. My sheet is actually white and some smooth lines are… missing.

Miss Brenkster – August 09

I know… I’m late.

Whenever I’ve talked about Brenkster, I mentioned all along our high creativity level. Haha. Now it’s time to do the job properly. From now on I’ll present you only self-drawn women. In the last weeks I’ve had a lot of time and I used it sensible. My first “sketchbook”, in fact it’s a simple notepad, is completely full and I have to buy new stuff next week.

By the way, I got it, why batpawn always said “you have to use blank paper, not the squared one…”. As you see on the right, it’s a little bit messy with all the squares and the contrast. I tried to adjust it with Photoshop, well…

You can call her Maria “Pig Nose” Yardner. Oh god.

Miss Brenkster – July 09

Last week I’ve received a message from Soley Kensson. The 24 years old woman from Reykjavík is working with a group of welders in a power plant.  If I heard right, that power plant provides the entire country with electricity, whole Iceland! She makes serious money, what’s really necessary because she has to sustain her little family all alone. selection_139_116-300x300

Short time after the birth of her son Riaan, her husband abandoned the young mother in the dead of night. For the moment it didn’t look good for the single mother, but fortunately Soley is technically skillful and she gained access to the job market quickly.

Towards evenings, when all the work is done and Riaan sleeps, Soley spends her time usually at the computer. By accident she found our promo video on YouTube und visited us recently.

Here’s an abstract of the mail she has sent to us:

I really like the contentual focus areas of Brenkster Tools and hail the getup in the industrial direction. It would be great if these dirty factory-image could enforce even visually. I will not say that the current blog-theme is poor, but in my opinion it doesn’t represent the idea which is published in the video I’ve seen. Personally, I think that darker colors look good on the blog. I prefer in any case bright fonts on dark backgrounds. Apart from that I’m awaiting more sketches from you two guys. I think that such drawings reveal somebodies personality… I’d like to know what’s going on IN the heads behind your entire project.

sjáumst!

cheers! In terms of the theme-colors: be advised that I’ll consider it. Thank you, Soley! I mean it’s great if there’s a concrete connection between website operators and their readers and I want more like that in the future. You’re all asked to use the comment-function, send us mails or do video-responses on YouTube. batpawn and me would be thrilled!

Brenkster Tools Promotion on YouTube

Dear valued reader! Not everyone is as smart as you, sometimes you have to lead a horse to water. For that reason I’ve decided to make a YouTube-video to convince even the last guy in the world of Brenkster Tools. I love YouTube and always wanted to upload a video, but I’ve never had a good idea until lately.

After that the following question came up: how do I represent our blog visual? batpawn and me associate Brenkster Tools always with something industrial, dark and wicked. Brenkster is a machine, which end of assembly line is the blog. Therefore I’ve collected a plenty of machine and factory pictures. My intention was always to overlay screenshots from our articles, which are accompanied by weird industrial-sounds. If a special ton was heard, one or two of my machine pictures should be fade in – but only for a split of a second!

However, my limited skills in video editing foiled me. I’ve had never make a video before, so iMovie was absolutely new ground. Either with Final Cut Express I couldn’t assemble my initially ideas. By the way, how tricky is that fucking piece of software?! On apple.com Steve Jobs praises the „great iMovie-compatibilitiy“ but in the end the imported material is everything else than useful.

Hmm, stop talking around the bush. Look!

As said above, the machine pictures comes from Google. The music is a find of jamendo.com. That’s a website for free music downloads. I think all tastes will be satisfied.

I’ve had a lot of fun while doing this video stuff and I promise you: that was not the last video I’ve made.

Brenkster Tools rules YouTube!

Miss Brenkster – June 09

by Manuel | | June 17th, 2009 | Manuel, tools | No Comments »

Yeah, I know what you think right now. “What the fuck is this? The austrian dude is doing ‘Miss Brenkster’ for this month? How is this even possible? I want to die, life doesn’t make any sense anymore!”. Yep, life doesn’t make any sense indeed. But I can’t help it, and as much as I love the idea of featuring the monthly ‘Lady Ranking’ once again, we are just too busy right now for doing it himself. Well… busy like “I’m too buy right now at enjoying myself”, “I’m too busy being on vacation while batpawn has to work overtime to keep Brenkster Tools running”, y’know, that sort of “being too busy”.

First of all, I have to thank all our female readers for sending us their own personal pictures. You are awesome! Not only am I utterly flattered by the fact that you seem to care so much for the blog that you consider it a great thing to be our own personal girl of the month for one single time (things like that make our work worthwhile), but also is it a wonderful thing to see how much work you put into your photos. I’m not lying when I say that it was darn hard to choose our girl for this month out of so many great submissions. So please, don’t be mad with us if you are not the winner of this months competition. We just can’t feature all of you at once! But keep in mind that you are still in the selection for our brenkstergirls in the months to come. So look out for that!

charlicity_Our Miss Brenkster for this Month is Charlice Stewardsen. Her roots lie in Australia, but she moved to Scotland at the age of 11. She is currently going to High School but plans to start a career as a stage actress within the next two years (I swear to god, I’m not making anything up here. Good luck with that!). She found Brenkster Tools due to a school project for the subject “German” in which she had to review either a film or a book. I’m glad to say that she chose the graphic novel “The Crow” based on the review I wrote about six months ago. Nice to see that I’m finally not the only one who is attracted to my genius!

Brenkster Tools Inc is awesome!!!  I love the blog!! You are both funny and informative and their passionate writing styles are not only enjoyable to read, but fun to read! There is so much thought within the stuff they write and it’s so much fun to dig into them that hours could simply go by and you won’t even recognize it. :D In times where the web seems to be flooded with picture-heavy blogs without any noticable substance, that’s seriously one hell of a refreshing thing!!! ^_^

Oh my, goes down like oil on an infected wound. Thank you very much for those lovely words. It is always such a special moment for me to see how much you people enjoy our work. I mean, I know that we are the best thing since “Jesus Walking On Water”, but I’m seriously not mad with you saying it out loud!

And another Miss Brenkster arised from the ancient ashes of the “Tools”. Another work is done and all of you girly thirsty perverts can rest for another month, and I can’t tell you enogh how less I’m interested in doing this boring, repetitive and sexistic job again.

Miss Brenkster – May 09

mbmsThat’s Eva Grender. She’s a native canadian, but currently lives in Ireland, because two years ago she applied there for a scholarship. Eva studies script-psychology and linguistics at the National University of Ireland in Maynooth. On mondays and wednesdays she works at the local cinema to get by and extend her music collection. To come down, Eva is listening to bands like The Shoe or Paperplain.

Last week she spotted our blog and that’s what she thought about:

First of all a cool web-appereance, these two guys have great intensions, but they should handle it one by one, otherwise they get killed by their laziness! :P

She’s dead right! I wish I could write continues, but it’s not so easy like it seems to be. For me it’s very hard to pick yourself up and concrete one of the countless phantasms out of your head… but this is not the end!
