Scribble Time!!

Since I’m writing and drawing pretty intensely in the last couple of months, I thought that it might be a pretty nice Idea to share some of my stuff with you, the “Brenkster Community”. This collection includes two “Batman character sketches” which I’ve done to literally elaborate the mood I’m trying to go for in “BATMAN:golgothik”. It also helped me to work on the character himself and how I want him to be reflected in my story. Kinda like a director who is working with an actor in the pre-production of his movie.

The third picture I’ve done shows a selfmade comicbook character, named – hold on – “Batpawn” (yeah… I know…). He is a character who I’m working on for quite a while, to be honest. I have “created” this character basically back in 2001, but never saw him as being anything more than my sexy alter-ego. The Idea of making a whole developed comicbookcharacter out of him came along back in 2004, I guess, when me and a friend of mine were shitchatting about how it would be like if we were superheroes, and our secret identities are our internet pseudonyms.

After a while of thinking and planning, I was cutting the “superhero thingie” and were working on another, more mature and darker take on the character. In the end, it turned out to be more of a horror fantasy drama than anything else. And I think I like it that way.

You will get more “Batpawn” in the next couple of weeks when I’m officially releasing more backstory about him, plot excerpts and fresh, new concept arts. If you’ve been an active reader in the last month, you might already caught a glimpse of Batpawn. The “Intermission Article” I’ve released is, in fact, the very first page of the first Batpawn issue.

Oh my, I almost forgot what this blogentry is all about. So, without any other deviation, here are the drawings! Click on the pictures to enlarge them – duh!
